How to set up a domain and DNS records in DNS

In this guide we will walk you through the process to set up a domain and configure DNS records. We will use bunny.net as an example.

What You'll Need

Before you dive in, make sure you have the following prerequisites in place:

Step 1: Access the DNS Section

First, you need to log in to bunny.net dashboard. Once logged in, navigate to the Delivery -> DNS. section

Step 2: Add a New Domain

Click on 'Create your first domain' or 'Add DNS Zone'.

Step 3: Enter Your Domain Name

You will be prompted to type in your domain name. Enter the domain name you have registered and wish to manage and click 'Add DNS zone' button.

Ensure you enter the domain name correctly to avoid any issues with DNS resolution later on.

This action will create a DNS zone for your domain. A DNS zone is a part of your domain namespace delegated for management under a specific authority.

Step 4: Update Nameservers

Switch your nameservers to bunny.net's nameservers and click the 'Okay, I'm done' button.

Step 5: Add Your DNS Records

Once your nameservers are pointed to your new DNS provider, you can start adding DNS records. DNS records are used to specify how your domain is routed and accessed on the internet.

To add a DNS record click the 'Add Record' button.

Fill in required details and click the 'Add Record' button.

Step 6: You are done

After you have followed all the steps as outlined, the changes will take effect immediately. There is no need to restart or wait for any additional confirmation.
