What is Edge Storage?

Edge Storage is a cloud storage solution provided by bunny.net that automatically replicates your data to multiple regions around the world. It integrates tightly with the bunny.net CDN and was designed to be the fastest performing global storage solution thanks to smart geographical load balancing.

Data Durability

The Edge Storage was designed to achieve maximum data durability through the use of multiple geographical regions. If data is lost in any of our datacenters, it is automatically re-streamed from a different region to new servers in that datacenter.

Thanks to multi-region redundancy, Edge Storage provides excellent durability even in a case of a local disaster such as an earthquake that could damage a local datacenter.

Each datacenter only stores a single replica of the data on a RAID 6 storage configuration. To achieve a 99.999999999% durability of objects we recommend enabling at least one additional replication region. Each additional replication region further reduces the chance of data loss.

  Eleven Nines Durability

Eleven nines durability (99.999999999%) level corresponds to an average annual expected loss of 0.000000001% of objects.

Limits

The Edge Storage was defined for infinite scalability. However, for performance reasons, there are some guidelines to keep in mind.

Limit Description Recommended Limit Maximum Limit
File Count
Hundreds of millions Hundreds of millions
File Size
10 GB per file Not Limited
Files Per Directory
